With that in mind, BBS being slightly out of trend in terms of design, is still a well known brand especially with their retro, motorsport inspired wheel designs. As such, when a regular client of ours paid us a visit looking for a set of wheels that would inject a touch of sportiness without going too overly aggressive, indeed he came to the right place!

Our client was looking for a wheel that would be sporty in nature without being overly aggressive. A wheel that would turn up the heat on his Q7’s aesthetics without being too brash and our answer was a set of BBS SV Wheels! Clear lines and an unmistakable design suggest the amount of power this wheel wants to be moved by. Specially designed for SUVs for use on and off the road, it gives cars a unique character. An exceptional look that will leave a deep impression.

Though the BBS SV may be much heavier than other market leading wheels, it’s flow formed construction ensures that these wheels will have more than adequate strength in order to take on the brutalities of our Malaysian roads. Fitted with a finish of Matte Black with Diamond Cut Spokes, there’s a nice contrast between the barrel of the wheel that’s in Matte Black and the Spokes which are finish in a brushed silver!

Fitted in a size of 10.5J x 22 at all four corners, the wheels look good albeit being a little deep in the fenders of the Q7. The fitment of which is wider than the stock setup would also guarantee stronger vehicular control via a wider contact patch on the tarmac! We bundled up the set of BBS alloys alongside a set of Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires of which were fitted in a size of 295/30/R22. As a whole, though the BBS SV wheels may be much heavier than other newer, more sophisticated wheels out there, it still manages to deliver a unique look that’s sure to turn up the looks of this Audi Q7!

With the debut of Vorsteiner’s & HRE’s flow forged lines, their design of which is more aggressive than other brands out there looks a whole lot better and at the same time lighter and better performing. This though, doesn’t make BBS wheels a bad choice. While BBS wheels are still good, there are simply better options out there. Therefore, we’ve now acquired the rights to the Vorsteiner & HRE brand as their sole, exclusive distributor of wheels in Malaysia in order to bring our clients the very best wheels out there.

BBS Sv on a bmw X5 & bbs ch-r on a BMW F30

We got a call from a client of ours notifying us of his coming BMW X5 of which is to be delivered shortly. By communicating with our client and his inquries on a set of 22 inch wheels. We sent him a photo of BBS’ set of SV design wheels of which are our sole set of BBS manufactured 22 inch wheels and he loved them!

Once his X5 was in his hands, he came straight to our office from the BMW showroom of which was located about 20km away to get his hands on his BBS SV wheels! Despite our showroom carrying other various brands and designs, he made up his mind without considering any other wheel brands and designs, as such, we had his set of wheels bundled up and wrapped up with a set of Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires at a very attractive and reasonable price. With the installation completed, he handed off the set of his X5’s stock wheels under consignment to us in order to sell em off and with our connections to our various partnered dealers, we sold em off in less than 24 hours!

With some extra change in our clients pocket from the sale of his X5’s stock wheels, he introduced a personal friend of his to our showroom of which also adores the looks of BBS’ designs. Driving in his Mineral Grey BMW F30, our client’s buddy loved our set of BBS CH-R wheels and we contrasted the costs with the sale of the X5’s stock wheels. As always, we bundled up the CH-R’s with a set of Pirelli P-Zero tires at a very attractive cost that would put the other prices of larger tires to shame.

As we brought out both BMW’s for a photo-shoot session, the X5 of which was fitted with a set of BBS SV wheels, finished in Diamond Cut Sating Black and the F30’s BBS CH-R’s finished in Brilliant Silver, at this day and age, though they’re not the best, the alloys still look good and in fact, turns up the looks on both the BMW’s.

When our client drove in his Golf, we were both shocked and a bit confused. He was running on his stock 16 inch wheels and to my knowledge at least, both my colleagues and I had no idea that Volkswagen’s Golf was fitted with 16 inch wheels as standard. Being obviously undersized, our client was in desperate need of upsizing his wheel size, with a set of 17 inch wheels being his target.

Rather unfortunately, we don’t carry any stock in the 17 inch wheel segment as to us, fitting a set of aftermarket 17 inch wheels is no better than fitting another set of stock wheels of the same size. After a brief discussion, our client was open to a set of 18 inch wheels and decided on a set of BBS’ SR wheels which would contrast gorgeously with the Golf’s Atlantic Blue body colour!

Sized out at 8J x 18 inches at all four corners, the Diamond Cut Volcano Grey finish of the wheels works well with the Golfs body colour and brings out a whole new level of sportiness that was absent on the cool, sleek looking Golf. Though the weight savings are minimal as the BBS wheel is casted, any weight saved is a major plus point as that’ll improve the Golf’s performance!

In my personal opinion, the CH-R is one of BBS’ classic design due to its motorsport inspired design. Long, filigree spokes and an especially small central area give this dynamic lightweight wheel a striking look. The CH-R is definitely not one of our best designs in office but is definitely a wheel that you’ll never go wrong with, as our client appreciated the looks of the CH-R!

The shape alone suggests a close relationship to motor racing, and this is confirmed by the performance – palpable in every turn of the wheel! It hearkens back to BBS’ involvements in motorsports. One of the wheels special features is it’s ‘Motorsport’ laser engraving in the centre of the wheel, replaceable stainless-steel rim protector and back-milled spokes for additional weight reduction.

Fitted at 8.5J x 19″ in the front and 11J x 19″ in the rear, the BBS CH-R wheel filled up the fender wells of the Porsche perfectly and gives it a nice broad stance. The shoulders of the Carrera instantly shows up wider and more gorgeously postured.

However, when the owner of this 535i paid us a visit, it proved to be a rather different makeover than previously. As an automotive aficionado, personally, the right set of wheels for the BMW F10 saloon, with it being a large sedan should be sized at 19 inches at a minimum. That said, when this client paid us a visit he was bowed over by the looks of the BBS CH-R wheels but requested a fitment sized at 18 inches.

The BBS lineup of wheels is scattered with various designs for various vehicles. That said, the CH-R’s heritage dates back to BBS’s previous wheel named, the CH. With continuous development and research, this release of the CH-R continues the bloodline of BBS products. Long, thin spokes and a very small center area give the CH-R design its equally timeless and dynamic appearance. Clearly a ‘race-inspired’ wheel, the CH-R injects a strong dose of motorsport aesthetics with strong performance to justify its looks. The design alone suggests a close relationship to motor racing, and this is confirmed by the performance – felt at every turn of the wheel!

Now, as we’ve always said, we strive to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients and we insisted our client to have a set of 19’s installed but he was adamant on his decision being set on an 18 inch size of wheels. Despite all that, we fitted a set of 18 inch CH-R wheels and the end result wasn’t too bad. While yes, it is a bit undersized for the F10, its also aggressive enough to hype up the looks of the car! We wont dive too deeply into the technical aspects of the wheel and all that talk, we’ll just let the photos of his hyped up F10 do the talking.

The BBS CI-R is concave high-performance wheel in their distinctive 5 Y-spoke design. Known for their high strength and low weight wheels, this CI-R design weighs in at even less than the BBS CH-R. A stunning wheel both visually with its distinctive, BBS typical, Y-spokes but also technically. When designing this new wheel, weight optimization was top priority.

Their proven Flow-Forming technology, results in a real lightweight performance! A set of these CI-R wheels which are measured in the sizes of 8J x 19″, which was installed on this VW results in a weight saving of over 30-40% over the stock wheels! Finished in Satin Black, when the wheels we’re fitted to this Metallic Red Golf R, the contrasting appearance of the wheels truly hypes up the sportiness of this hot hatch! The wheels also include a chrome silver rim protector which does wonders to elevate the sporting atmosphere of the car.
