The HRE Performance Lightweight Wheels program is a specialized wheel design program that aims to minimize and reduce as much weight as possible. Only selected vehicles are eligible for the fitment of these amazing wheels which not only adds to its exclusivity but also adds to its quality of precision craftsmanship. Only certain vehicles are present in the fitment/application data sheet for the HRE Lightweight Wheels lineup which clearly boasts the ‘quality over quantity’ design & manufacturing philosophy.

Working with us, our client placed an order for a set of HRE Performance’s R101LW Lightweight wheels built in a form factor of 9.5J x 20 inches in the front and 11J x 20 inches in the rear. When the wheels arrived, we had them shipped out to our client in Singapore and he absolutely enjoyed the driving feel of his M3 once the wheels were fitted. Significantly lighter and a whole lot stronger than any other custom forged wheel the R101LW wheels not only delivered but exceeded his expectations. Each of the front wheels weighed only 7.8 kilograms with the rear wheels weighing only 8.25 kilograms each!

As he snapped a few photos of his BMW M3 and emailed them to us for our previous feature, we’ve never seen his car in person! That all changed when he dropped by our office for a catchup session and our eyes were blown away with how amazing his M3 looked! Immediately, we seized the opportunity to conduct a short photography session with our clients super stunning BMW M3!

In the time of six weeks (four for production & two for air freight), HRE transformed a solid block of aluminum into the most finely crafted wheel available on the market. This particular set of wheels were finished satin bronze finish which was recommended by our general manager, which features a unique colour tone that when viewed from different angles exudes a different finish!

One of the best, one of the lightest, one of the strongest and definitely one of the very best looking, the R101LW Lightweight wheel is stunning to behold in person! HRE’s R101LW Lightweight is based on their R101 wheel takes the R101 style to the next level. The R101LW is specifically designed for individual vehicle models creating the ultimate in lightweight optimization for street use. Every vehicle model has a different load rating and power output, so they’ve utilized this data to redesign the R101 for each model application fine-tuning each detail of the wheel to remove weight and add stiffness where possible.

One client of ours had actually booked a Mercedes-AMG E43 a year ago and managed to rush its delivery period during the tax holiday season before the new Sales & Service Tax kicked in and once he was notified of the upcoming delivery of his ride, he visited our showroom immediately. Our client’s dream was to have a set of HRE’s custom built forged wheels. As it was our very first time working on a Mercedes-AMG E43, we did not (at that moment) have the appropriate fitment & application sizes for the E43. However, working closely with our American counterparts at HRE Performance Wheels, we managed to procure their recommended fitment and application sizes for the E43.

After browsing through the design lines of HRE’s forged wheels, our client chose the P101 monoblok design and as he mentioned his intentions on wrapping the body of his ride, he wanted a Satin Black finish on the wheels and we loved his suggestion! As the decision was done, our client waited patiently for a month before his set of forged P101 wheels flew in directly from San Diego, California, USA!

Being a customized forged wheel, it does takes some time for HRE to manufacture and perfect the wheel’s design to our client’s exact demands and specifications. Previously, HRE would require a lead time of about eight weeks in order to produce their customized forged wheels, however, they’ve shortened the waiting period to a month and after patiently waiting our client drove over immediately in his new Mercedes-AMG E43, wrapped up in Matte Grey the moment the wheels arrived and we began the unboxing process! The Satin Black finish was absolutely, stunningly perfect and there was no observed imperfections. The wheel incorporated a cool two-tone HRE center cap for added style and I believe the most eye-catching feature of the wheels would be the engravings done in the inner barrel of the wheel, stating the exact specs and dimensions of the wheels, gorgeous attention to detail!

The moment the wheel was installed, our client felt the difference in less than a kilometer of driving! at 20 inches in size, the wheel weighed at 9.35 kilograms in the front and 9.86 kilograms in the rear which acquaints to over 25% of weight reduction in comparison with the stock 20 inch AMG wheel. Greater, meaner and all out lighter, the P101 certainly pushes the E43’s handling limits even further than ever! The HRE recommended offsets of which were incorporated into the manufacture of these wheels produces a wheel that’s bigger, wider and broader than the stock wheels and enables a fitment that puts the wheels perfectly parallel to the fenders of the Mercedes! No words could describe our client’s satisfaction as he was in shock and awe with how his car looked after the installation of the wheels! It was absolutely a dream come true for our client!

The FF04 wheel is HRE’s continuum of their FlowForm wheel bloodline, and with just one glance at the all-new FF04 wheel, you could tell that all of HRE’s experience in the manufacture of both forged and flow forged wheels has led them to achieve an all new wheel that embodies all the defining qualities of a HRE wheel.

In my personal opinion, through the eyes of an automotive enthusiast, the new FF04 is a new striking addition in to the marketplace. Offered in a brand new finish, dubbed, Liquid Metal which proudly showcases its ‘Forged-like’ looks, the FF04’s design would redefine the looks of any car its installed on. The looks of the FF04 wheel is like none other wheel out there, being both aggressive but classy at the same time. The concave 5 V-spokes elevates outwards from the centre hub of the wheel and ends along the rim of the wheel, thus giving it a touch of 3D elements to boost the aesthetics of the wheel!

The FF04 wheel features a beautiful V-spoke design and will initially be offered in popular fitments for the BMW M2/M3/M4 along with other fitments for American sports cars such as the Chevy Camaro and the Ford Mustang, however more applications have begun to follow in the coming months, with fitment sizes for selected Porsche models being rolled out as of now! Along the timeline of a handful of months, there’ll be more and more applications for more mainstream vehicles being rolled out gradually for the makes and models of Audi, BMW & Mercedes-Benz.
