Tailored And Specifically Built: Mercedes-Benz BRABUS S-Class Equipped With Carlsson 1/16 RS
We don’t get many BRABUS vehicles back here in Malaysia, but when we do, we take each and every opportunity to snap some photos and showcase this unique build up. Featured in these images is a superbly maintained BRABUS tuned Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Now aged it may be, being first launched back in 2005, but the owner of this car has taken car of it so well that it looks as good as new.
However, having damaged his wheels, the proud owner of this BRABUS S-Class paid a visit to our showroom to replace his set of aged but damaged wheels. That said, the owner of this luxurious sedan did not want the usual makes of Vorsteiner, BBS and etc. He wanted a wheel that was exclusive to the Mercedes-Benz brand and as such, that led us to introduce him to the Carlsson brand.
The wheels shown in the images are one of Carlsson’s iconic designs, the Carlsson 1/16 RS in the Diamond Edition which evokes some subtle design elements of Mercedes-AMG’s multi-spoke alloys albeit in a more sleeker finish. 16 minimalistic sleek spokes document the Carlsson Design tradition. The arched edges of the spokes, bent towards the rim of the wheel emphasizes the modern reinterpretation of the Carlsson wheel. The somewhat gloss finish also works along with the cars body colour thus, refreshing and updating the look of this saloon. Measured at 8.5J x 19J at the front and 9.5J x 19″ at the rear, its a staggered layout which improves grip and performance through the bends.
