BMW M5: Hyping Up The Super Sedan Benchmark…
The F10 BMW M5 launched in 2011, stepped up the sports-sedan benchmark. With its 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing a whopping 560hp, the M5 hits 100km/h in 4.2 seconds from standstill. That said the M5 in stock form, to some owners lacks the aggression factor they’re looking for in this legendary sports-sedan.
A beautiful M5 in pure stock form came into our showroom sometime back. The owner was looking to turn up the aggression factor of his car. Given that we carry multiple brands in our portfolio, we decided to mix and match a few parts from various manufacturers, to “sportify” this M5.
BMW M5 F10 Front Three Quarter: Showcasing The Vosrteiner Front Splitter
On the front fascia, we’ve equipped the Vorsteiner front splitter, which is composed of the finest autoclave pre-impregnated carbon fibre, which brings superior durability, stiffness and strength. However, the front splitter is one of a kind, consisting of two parts which are the full add-on lips and an additional centre splitter. Over at the rear of the car, we’ve fitted a new rear diffuser, manufactured by Vorsteiner as well. The diffuser, of course composed of carbon fibre, completely changes the look of the original bumper, and from a rear three quarter view, the cars sporty character is much more profound. To add a more menacing appeal to the car, a Kelleners Sport exhaust system was fitted, and the effects were instantly noticeable. The cars exhaust note is completely different, bystanders will definitely hear a more aggressive soundtrack, perfect for the M5’s character. As a side benefit, the exhaust system reduces the weight of the original exhaust system, therefore, reducing the entire overall weight of the car.
Last but not least, as the owner did not like the look of the original forged M5 wheels, he asked us for a suggestion on a set of wheels that might amplify the aggression factor on his car. We suggested a set of Vorsteiner V-FF 102’s in their Carbon Graphite finish measured at 9J x 20″ and 10.5J x 20″ for the front and rear respectively. This staggered wheel set up that is both wider and lighter than stock, will cater for the mountainous amount of power sent from its twin-turbo V8 engine to the rear wheels, and at the same time enhancing the aesthetics of the car. With Vorsteiner’s expertise in Flow-Forged wheels, these VFF-102’s drops the overall weight of the car, thus enhancing the limit performance of the car. For that extra level of driver control, the wheels we’re wrapped up with Pirelli P-Zero’s at all four corners.
The perfect combination and marriage of these parts make the car outstanding. No one could ever mistake this car of being an ordinary M5.
