At only a few months old, a BMW X5 driven by a client of ours, paid us a visit looking for a set of wheels to style up his BMW X5! Now, we’re pretty familiar with this car, it’s one of Malaysia’s best selling SUV’s on the road today and with great driving dynamics and a very aggressive body kit, the only thing that the X5 is lacking is a set of sporty wheels and we’ve managed to fix that in this article!

From the factory, the BMW X5 comes stock with a set of 19 inch wheels of which are just too undersized for the size of this vehicle. As such, working closely with our client, we sorted out his needs and requirements for his new set of alloys. A wheel of any large size would suit the X5 easily especially with its large, sculpted aggressive body, however, our client was looking for a set of run-flat tires and in Malaysia, the largest run-flat tire size tops out at 21 inches in diameter.

As such, we introduced the Vorsteiner V-F 103 wheel to our client, one of Vorsteiner’s sportiest and most attractive wheels! We recommended a 21 inch set of wheels that would highlight the deep concavity profile on the V-FF 103 wheel and our client took a glance at photos of our previous X5 makeovers with similar fitment sizes and our client loved it! With such fitment sizes and specifications, Vorsteiner engineered the rear wheels to feature a concaved profile unlike any other wheel out there, it’s super deep and definitely hypes up the aesthetics of the X5!

The stock 19 inch BMW alloy in comparison with the Vorsteiner wheel would stand no chance at all, as the Vorsteiner wheel despite being larger in size by two inches, the Vorsteiner wheel manages to shave off about 35% of the BMW’s stock factory wheel weight! With the lighter weight figures, the BMW would be able to handle more spiritedly and perform even better through the corners! Vorsteiner’s wheel specifications for the X5 sizes out the V-FF 103’s at 10J x 21″ in the front and 11J x 21″ in the rear of which is broader than the stock alloys and would give the X5 a better handling track that would push this SUV beyond its limitations!

We wrapped up the set of alloys with a set of Dunlop Sport Maxx Run-flat tires as per our clients requirements and handed back the keys to him after a short drive around our showroom. Our final verdict would be that the Vorsteiner alloys completely changes the driving dynamics of the BMW, the large SUV now works and performs better than ever with the reduced weight of the wheels and is able to turn in better especially with the new tire & wheel combo!
