Cabriolet Perfection: BMW 420d Convertible Equipped With Vorsteiner V-FF 103 Wheels!
The BMW 4-Series Convertible had always been a fantastic, fabulous open-top cruiser since its launch back in 2014. When the time is right, and the sun is shining, one could put down the roof and feel the wind in your hair as you cruise along boulevards with bystanders envious of your ride. It’s been a while since we’ve worked on a convertible, so when this gorgeous Glacier Silver 420d Convertible drove in to our driveway, we knew this was going to be fun!
Vorsteiner has been working tirelessly to release new fitments for BMW’s F3X lineup, as these cars are huge volume sellers. With continuous R&D, Vorsteiner intends to give consumers broader options in terms of car customisation. As it stands, Vorsteiner already has various compatible BMW F3X wheel applications ranging from, the V-FF 101 to the V-FF 106.
Before we begun the makeover process, we took a quick peek at the car and noticed a set of BMW M-Performance Brake Calipers painted red, instantly we were given an impression that the owner was a Bimmer enthusiast. Of the various offerings from Vorsteiner, our esteemed client was most fond of the V-FF 103, which isn’t surprising as that’s Vorsteiner’s best seller. As such, the finishing selected by the owner was Vorsteiner’s Carbon Graphite finish, another crowd favourite. To complement the look of his car, as well as to match the colour of his brake calipers, we threw in a set of Vorsteiner Limited Edition Red Centre Caps to add both a sense of character and contrast in to the mix.
Given that this is such an attractive car, we’d rather not bore out our readers by diving too deeply into the details. That said, the front wheels weigh less than 10 kilograms each and are measured at 8.5J x 20″ and the rear wheels weigh 10.39 kilograms and are measured 10J x 20″, giving it the ability to hone all that monstrous torque from its diesel engine. As this car weighs 1775 kilograms, every kilogram saved is able to make a notable difference in the cars performance and dynamics. Vorsteiner’s manufacturing methods and proprietary aluminium compounds enables their wheels to achieve a weight reduction of well over 30% in comparison with the Bimmer’s stock wheels. With wheels that are lighter, the car is able to handle and respond faster to the driver’s input, giving the driver an extra level of confidence. From the start, our client was confident that this setup would enhance the look and feel of the car but he hadn’t expected the overall look of the car to be this stunning and breathtaking. Those wheels were then wrapped with Italy’s finest Pirelli P-Zero tyres.
