Based on the English dictionary, an icon is defined as “a thing regarded as a symbol or as worthy of worship” and the BMW 3-Series is definitely an icon! Conceived in 1975, the BMW 3-Series has gone on to become the world’s most renowned sports sedan, praised for its performance, dynamics and of course, its practicality. BMW themselves calls it, the Legend!

As Autofuture Design’s editor in-chief, I was invited to the Malaysian launch of the BMW 3-Series and it was absolutely stunning and amazing to behold! The driving experience of the 3-Series did not disappoint as well with its dynamics being a whole lot sharper than the current outgoing 3-Series. However, despite the amazing driving dynamics and aesthetics of the whole car, I personally felt that the 18 inch M-Sport wheels were just not good looking enough to keep up with the BMW’s refreshed sheet metal.

Then again, a vehicle’s aesthetics are a subjective matter, with some whom may love it’s looks and others whom may look for a way to improve it. Which is exactly what happened to this Alpine White BMW 330i M-Sport! The buyer of the vehicle was based on the shores of East Malaysia and purchased his 330i which was due for delivery in the coming days. As such, the 330i’s owner was a little let down by the M-Sport wheel design and was in search of a better looking set of wheels for his ride.

Being a current Vorsteiner user on a Mercedes-AMG A-Class, the owner knew that the first thing that had to be done at the earliest opportunity possible was to swap out the stock set of wheels for a set of Vorsteiner alloys! The Vorsteiner V-FF 107 wheels caught his attention and with no delay, he contacted our partnered dealer in the Sungai Buloh area, DTM Car Tech Auto! He was astounded with the amazing looks of Vorsteiner’s V-FF 107 wheels but given that the new 3-Series runs a completely different set up compared to its outgoing sibling, our dealer had limited fitment details for his ride. As such, we stepped in to assist our dealer and personally sent over a set of V-FF 107 wheels in the client’s requested Carbon Graphite finish, with the available fitment sizes for the new 3-Series!

Fitted with Vorsteiner tailored offset specifications, the wheels were sized out at 8.5J x 19″ in the front and 9.5J x 19″ in the rear, the new Vorsteiner wheels which are not only broader but lighter as well! The aggressive mesh design of the V-FF 107 wheels installed on this 330i was finished in Carbon Graphite, casts a perfect colour contrast and brings out a whole new level of aesthetics! To push this BMW’s aesthetic envelope even further than ever, we fitted a set of Vorsteiner Designer Red Center Caps!

As a whole, the new BMW G20 3-Series is a whole new different machine compared to the previous outgoing generation of the 3-Series! With the new wheels installed, the 3-Series would not only look better but drive even better than it already impressively does!
