The Carlsson Edition: Mercedes-Benz W212 Equipped with Carlsson 1/16 Wheels!
For Mercedes-Benz vehicles, the most bespoke and tailored wheels that you can find are probably product by Carlsson Fahrzeugtechnik of Germany! Carlsson is a German car tuner which specializes in Mercedes-Benz cars. The Carlsson tuning house was in 1989 with their most popular wheels being developed for the entire current range of Mercedes-Benz models.
As such, we are Malaysia’s sole distributor of Carlsson products in the nation, carrying their entire lineup of wheels for over a decade has been a true honor and a privilege for us. Recently however, despite other brands which are growing increasingly popular (e.g. Vorsteiner & HRE) we’re still paid visits by loyal Mercedes-Benz fans looking to upgrade their stock alloys for wheels which are made specifically for their Mercedes-Benz automobile which is exactly what happened for this Mercedes-Benz E-Klasse.
Paying us a visit was a Mercedes-Benz E-Klasse E200 sedan looking to upsize his rims and regardless of the other brands we carry, he was adamant to pick a wheel that was built specifically for the Mercedes-Benz brand. With that in mind, we introduced him to the Carlsson brand which produces wheels which are tuned and tailored specifically for the Mercedes-Benz brand. The design that caught his eye was the Carlsson 1/10 Diamond Edition which features 16 polished, tapered spokes for a chrome like effect. Adding in to the performance of the wheel, the 16 spokes aren’t only for aesthetics as they contribute to the overall strength of the wheel reinforcing the tim of the wheel. We assisted the owner by wrapping up the wheels with the tires of his choice which were a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubbers.
Being an avid Mercedes-Benz fan, the owner was well aware of the E-Classe’s ride and handling issues especially with the soft absorbers contributing to the scrapping of the undercarriage being a massive issue to the vehicle. Knowing so, he requested that we install a set of Bilstein B8 shock absorbers to improve this sedan’s handling whilst solving the scrapping issue full circle. With everything said and done, the new, lighter Carlsson alloys paired up with a fresh new set of Bilstein shocks gave this E-Klasse a more perfected ride and handling, being able to take on the tightest corners at much higher profound speed.
